Amouranth vs Pokimane Beef
Bogdan LashchenkoAmouranth and Pokimane are by far some of the most popular content creators in the streaming world. But, both of them have opposite views on many things, which we have seen broadly in recent weeks. The whole drama began when xQc joined Kick for a deal worth $100 million.
In case you don't know, some of the biggest streamers on the market are switching from Twitch to Kick. And they are signing very lucrative deals that these content creators dream of.
The Start of the Drama
It all began on June 17, 2023, just a day after xQc’s deal went public. Pokimane was streaming on her platform when someone on the chat said that she should keep doubting Kick as it's already taking over.
Pokimane responded that Kick was making Twitch money and that Kick was using Twitch's services. With this statement, she was trying to say that Kick is using Amazon Web Service’s Interactive Video Service. Now, if you didn’t know, Amazon owns Twitch. So, according to her response, she thinks that Kick relies on Twitch.
xQc, who is one of the world’s richest streamers, was the first to respond, saying that he was confused as things don't work like that. He noted that Amazon wasn't Twitch and that there are major differences between them. Now, both streamers were going back and forward, which made other content creators join in on the argument.
At one point Pokimane said that she would never join Kick. She felt like joining this new platform would compromise her morals and ethics for more money, while she already has money.
In case you didn’t know, the co-founder of Kick, Ed Craven, also co-owns Stake.com. Also, many streamers that sign deals with Kick are streaming casino content while on the platform
Amouranth Response to Pokimane
Following the latest comments from Pokimane made Amouranth join in on the beef. She too joined Kick for a deal worth between $30 and $40 million.
During one of her streams, Amouranth was viewing the clip of Pokimane's comments when she decided to respond. The content creator said that Pokimane started this beef and is now maintaining it just so she can gain back relevancy and farm clout.
Amouranth also noted that she is trying to get views by discussing a trending topic just so she can maintain her viewership. She also noted that it was a very smart approach for her, as she could focus on her travel and not stream too much.
Corinna Kopf also jumped on this argument, calling Pokimane self-righteous for her comments about streamers joining Kick. As of this moment, Pokimane is yet to respond to Amouranth and Corinna Kopf.
Final Words
It seems like Pokimane started a war with everyone who joined Kick by signing hefty sponsorship deals. She often criticises Kick for their immoral ways of attracting content creators and forcing gambling content.
Amouranth, as well as some other Kick streamers, didn’t hold back on her comments as they felt under attack. Many of them are receiving a lot of money to stream on Kick. Some think that Pokimane is jealous, while Amouranth thinks that she is trying to farm clout and stay relevant.
