What Windows version is better for video games?
Yuriy SheremetMany gamers continue using out-of-date OS Windows versions nowadays. This is due to they have simply got used to using one version and can’t decide to move to a “fresher” one. And some users have recently bought a computer, which has modern Windows 10, and they plan to move to Windows 7, which has highly recommended itself.
What of the above-mentioned can really be useful? Not every gamer can answer this question, so it is worth examining all aspects of this question!
What OS Windows versions are considered to be out-of-date?
First of all, we recommend checking the list of the out-of-date Windows versions because they became irrelevant and lost their performance a long time ago. So, the following OSs by Microsoft are considered to be out-of-date in 2020:
Windows XP
This OS has stopped supporting new hardware since 2011. Also, it can’t cope with more than 2.5 gigabytes of random-access memory! And since 2014, Windows XP has not received security system updates. So It is not worth talking about Windows versions, which had been released before Windows XP.
Windows Vista
It is considered to be one of the least successful things made by the company Microsoft. Its support was stopped almost right after the release of Windows 7, so this OS should be excluded from the list of the actively used systems!
Windows 7
This OS is almost legendary, which still has lots of dedicated users. The problem is that since this year, security system updates have stopped releasing for it and driver updates will stop releasing soon. Besides this, modern games have started working slower on Windows 7. So this OS does not fit the modern PC.
Windows 8
The company Microsoft stopped supporting this OS a bit after its release because Windows 8 is considered to be probably the worst OS ever!
What Windows 10 versions are better: LTSC, Pro, or Home?
On the outcome of the above-mentioned, users have to use only Windows 10. However, it is delivered with a few versions:
Windows 10 Home
This version is made for home use, which is reflected in its name. Home means to be used at home. It is pre-installed on many shop computers. Unfortunately, it does not have many necessary corporate system functions.
Windows 10 Pro
It is perfect both for an office and home. it includes virtualization, the encryption of storage, remote desktop, and many other useful functions, which, unfortunately, can’t be used in games. Windows 10 Pro is considered to be the biggest OS version both in terms of RAM and the storage required.
Windows 10 LTSC
The simplified professional version, which includes only the basic functions. One of the main features of the system is the extended security support and big but rare updates (2-3 times a year). Compared to other versions, Windows 10 LTLC is the smallest one in terms of the required storage. Unfortunately, it can’t be received legally for home use. A FPS rate is way better in many old games on Windows 10 LTSC, however, this rate is similar to other Windows 10 versions in new games.
Considering the above-discussed statements, it is clear that the most optimal option for gamers is OS Windows 10 Home. Because Windows 7 will stop functioning and supporting modern games soon; Windows 10 Pro consumes a lot of memory and needs big storage and its benefit in games is small; Windows 10 LTSC increases FPS only in old games and it is not provided legally for personal use. So at the moment, Windows 10 Home is the absolute leader among its analogs!
