Guide to Primal Beast 7.31. New hero in Dota 2
Yuriy SheremetAt first, the hero's win rate was 40%, but in patches 7.31a and 7.31b, it was slightly increased. The builds and ways to use Primal Beast will still change for some time, but the basic principle of playing for this hero is clear already now. Primal Beast is a power hero with a low amount of armor, whose abilities are focused on stunning opponents and dealing damage in an area.

Popular Hero Ability Builds:
The strongest skill of the hero is the second one, it deals the most damage at the initial stage. It is enough to take overclocking at once, since it does not increase so much with the level.
Talents
10 - +12% to magic resistance (if the opponent has mages)
15 - +120 Onslaught Damage
20 - Dispel on self when using Uproar (if opponent has nasty abilities)
25 - +100% Pulverize duration
Items
Hero Builds:
Bracer (preferably two) is the key to a successful line. The trinity of Bracer-Wraith Band-Null Talisman is popular right now, and Bracer looks great on Primal Beast with its already huge stats.
• Phase Boots. Beast needs armor and the ability to catch up with Trample. Phases handle both tasks.
• Pipe of Insight. Primal Beast wants to charge into the center of the fight and soak up damage for Uproar, so Pipe will come in handy.
• Black King Bar. Our ult is knocked down by a stun, so BKB is a must.
• Blink Dagger. situational subject. We need it when initiating with Onslaught is not enough - for example, against Storm Spirit.
• Assault Cuirass. More armor, more survivability.
• Heaven's Halberd. It will increase our damage, protect against carries, and give us survivability.
• Other typical offlaner artifacts, from Crimson and Shiva Guard to Guardian Greaves.
• Aghanim Shard. Objectively, the stone is quite hard to hit, but if the teammate has control to throw the stone at, Shard will be a great acquisition.
Gameplay
Onslaught has massive damage at level one, so it's worth going out and fighting for runes. On the lane we spam Uproar, and at level 4 we can already do kills. You shouldn't stay on the lane for a long time, after getting level 6 we look for kills on other lanes and help the allies gain control over the map.
The place where Primal Beast is strongest is in the mid game. The hero does not depend on cooldowns, so you need to fight as often as possible. However, with Trample, you can farm stacks of jungle creeps if the team is suddenly not ready for constant fights. Closer to the late stage, the hero becomes weaker, it is worth considering and trying to finish the game as quickly as possible.
Try to start the fight with your ult. Due to the low cooldown, there is a chance that you can use Pulverize twice.Remember that overclocking can not only attack, but also urgently leave the fight.Trample cuts down all the trees so that an opponent can never lure you away from you in the woods. Don't forget to keep an eye on Uproar - the stacks fill up very quickly. Often Primal Beast players run with five charges and don't use the free slow buff.
Counter picks Primal Beast
Beast doesn't like heroes that interfere with his mobility and knock down his ult before Black King Bar spawns. For example, silence makes a character completely useless in a teamfight. Good picks to counter Primal Beast: Meepo, Ark Warden, Lone Druid, Tiny, Death Prophet, Vengeful Spirit, Grimstroke.
