Who will win the Ekstraklasa Games?

The popularity of the Ekstraklasa Games is the best indication of how much esports has grown in recent years. Since the start of the season, 18 teams in the top division have entered their representatives in the virtual FIFA 23 competition + two teams from the backroom. At this point, we already know the four finalists of the main tournament, and this weekend, the PRO play-offs will take place, with four places still to be won. Who will play in the grand final?

Summary of the regular season

During the Ekstraklasa Games regular season, each player played 38 games. The teams competed against each other in an each-versus-each format, similar to the Ekstraklasa Games, but augmented by two additional teams, namely Sandecje Nowy Sącz, and Zagłębie Sosnowiec.

Even before the start of the struggle, bookmaker analysts indicated that the three players with the best chances of winning the regular season are: Furman, Damie and Błachu. It is therefore quite a surprise that so far only 2 of these players have won promotion to the final tournament. Furman, or Lech Poznan's representative, is the current Polish champion, who also performed excellently at the World Championships, but at the moment does not yet have a pass to the finals. Already this coming weekend he will be competing in the PRO barraages, of which he is the main favourite. Furman finished the regular season in 7th place. Błachu could also have found himself in a similar situation, but he made up for his outstanding matches and confidently advanced from second place. Currently, the odds prepared by the bookmaker's betting analysts indicate that it is Damie and Błachu who are the main favourites to win after such good form in the regular season. In Furman's case, it can be argued that his form in the current edition is not as high as in FIFA 22, so his chances of a final triumph are lower. In addition, the representative of Lech Poznań still has to pass the play-offs next weekend, and this is not at all guaranteed.

Among the positive surprises of the regular season, the Widzew Lodz player Bejott should undoubtedly be singled out. He finished in 4th position with 73 points. Interestingly, Bejott had the worst goal-scoring record of all the teams in the Top 10 of the table, but still managed to finish in a position guaranteeing participation in the finals. However, the rivalry continued until the last game, as before the start of the final round, it was Bejott who had to make up points to Dewidek.

The most points in the regular season were won by Damie, who represents the colours of Rakov Częstochowa. In contrast, the worst scorer was Górnik Zabrze player KayOr with 9 points.

PRO Barracks - who will join the finalists?

After the regular season, we know that Bejott, Zalewskyy, Blachu and Damie have secured their participation in the finals. This group will be joined by the top four players from the Barażes, which will take place next weekend. We already know the division into specific groups, so we can move on to preliminary analysis.

In both groups, there are 3 clear favourites who should settle the question of promotion between them. However, the Ekstraklasa Games are so unpredictable that no one can be crossed off here. As far as the competition in Group A is concerned, analysts point out that Dewidek, as well as Riptorek, have the best chances for promotion. The representative of Piast Gliwice was a hair away from winning promotion to the final tournament while still in the regular season, but ultimately lost his place in the correspondence competition to Bejott. Overall, however, he presented himself with a very good performance, so it is no surprise that the experts appreciate his form.

The other main candidate for promotion from this group is Riptorek. It is safe to say that if it were not for the false start in the current Ekstraklasa Games season, the representative of Jagiellonia Białystok would probably be fighting for promotion to the finals until the very end. Riptorek looked poor at the start and ultimately failed to make up points.

Always dangerous in this rivalry can also be Polako, who in previous editions has shown that he must be reckoned with. Initial predictions here condemn the contestant from Stal Mielec to destruction.

In Group B, we also have a very strong cast of two Polish champions. Furman, a Lech Poznan player, is the current defending champion, but he is not performing as well in the current edition as he did last year. Nevertheless, according to experts, he is the main candidate to win Group B.

Bogyys shares are also high, having finished the regular season in 6th place. The Warta Poznan player, like Dewidek, lost the competition for the finals by exactly one point. Overall, however, he presented himself really solidly throughout the season, so it is no surprise that his ratings are very high.

The form shown by Miłosz Bogdanowski is also worth mentioning. The Legia Warsaw player is one of the most successful players in our country, who in the end of the regular season defeated several rivals from the top, thus improving his position. Who knows, but Miłosz may be able to spring a surprise not only in the play-offs, but even in the final tournament if he manages to get promoted.

The regular season of Ekstraklasa Games brought many surprising results. It is now worth discussing some of the interesting facts that could be observed during the competition. The most commonly used formation by the players was 4-3-2-1, and especially at the end of the season.
