New York Subliners Win Call of Duty League 2023: Stage 1 Major
/Call of Duty League 2023: Stage 1 Major has ended. As part of the event, which took place from December 15 to 18 in American Raleigh at the Raleigh Convention Center, sixteen teams from Europe and North America fought for a total prize pool of $500,000, as well as the first ranking points in the season table. The tournament champion was the New York Subliners team, which in the grand final was stronger than the Seattle Surge with a score of 4:1.
Already at the group stage, the team from New York showed its champion ambitions by beating Los Angeles Guerrillas (3:0) and Minnesota RØKKR (3:0). As a result, the team finished first in Group A and made it to the playoffs with the top seed.
Here, the New York Subliners started with a victory over the Florida Mutineers (3:1), but after that they lost to the Seattle Surge (1:3) and fell into the lower bracket. Nevertheless, the team managed to cope with the pressure to beat Las Vegas Legion (3:1), Toronto Ultra (3:2) and Atlanta FaZe (3:1) one by one.
As a result, the New York Subliners made it to the grand finals, where they took revenge on the Seattle Surge (4:1) and became the winner of the Call of Duty League 2023: Stage 1 Major. With this success, the team earned $200,000 + 65 points, while KiSMET from the champion team was named the best player in the championship.
