Virtus.pro will return to their old tag
Ihor MatusRepresentatives of the Russian esports organization announced that their players will continue to play under the classic Virtus.pro tag and no longer need to disguise themselves as Outsiders.
This move was made as a result of Russia's attack on Ukraine on February 24th. Due to such events, the organizers of many tournaments have banned Russian clubs from participating in CS:GO , Dota 2 , Valorant and other championships.
Now the organization Virtus.pro has announced that players who played under the Outsiders tag will return to the classic name and play as VP.
The situation was commented by the head of the most famous Ukrainian organization Natus Vincere Evgeny 'HarisPilton' Zolotarev:
The traditional Russian approach, and it seems that Valve is fine with that.
ESL Pro League Season 16, in which Virtus.pro will take part, runs from August 31 to October 2. The total prize pool is $835,000. Virtus.pro took 3rd place in Group B and advanced to the playoffs. Thanks to this, the team reached the first round of the playoff stage. In addition to the main prize of $175,000, the winner will earn invites to BLAST Premier World Final 2022 and Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023 with prize pools of $1,000,000.
