The reigning EDward Gaming world champions advance to the 2022 World Championship
Maksym ShylovThe match of the first round of the LPL 2022 Regional Finals has ended, in which Edward Gaming defeated Royal Never Give Up with a score of 3:2. Thus, Meiko and the team receive a slot in the main stage of the 2022 World Championship.
EDward Gaming are the reigning League of Legends world champions. Last year at Worlds 2021, EDward Gaming defeated DWG KIA in the grand final of the tournament with a score of 3:2 and earned the main prize of $489,500.
As part of the LPL 2022 Summer, the club took 5th place, which allowed them to qualify for the LPL 2022 Summer Playoffs. There, EDward Gaming took the bronze medal and earned ¥500,000 (~$72,459.56). We previously wrote about what the Worlds 2022 Winners Cup will look like.

Recall that the 2022 World Championship will be held from September 29 to November 5 of this year. The venue for Worlds 2022 will be Mexico and the United States. In the main stage, 16 teams will compete for a $2,225,000 prize pool and the world title.
