VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Masters Tokyo (VCT Masters Tokyo 2023) is the next big VALORANT tournament in 2023, taking place on LAN. For the first time a championship of this scale will be held in Japan, as announced by the developers at the end of 2022.

The Masters series itself is the equivalent of the CS:GO majors and will bring together the best competitors from each region. From June 11-25, the best teams in the world will gather in Japan for the 2nd international tournament of the season. Representatives from the affiliate leagues and two teams from China will determine the strongest at this point of the season.

The tournament is expected to offer a massive prize pool as well as a trip to the final VALORANT Champions 2023 for the winner. Given the status of the tournament, the organisers may once again prepare a collection of in-game skins, offering a portion of the profits to the participating teams.

Valorant Masters Tokyo 2023 will be the fifth event in the VALORANT Masters series. Moreover, Tokyo will be the fourth city after Reykjavik, Berlin and Copenhagen to host a championship of this magnitude.

VALORANT Masters Tokyo 2023 participants

Twelve Valorant teams from four regions will take part in the VCT Masters Tokyo:

Europe - 4 teams from the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: EMEA League.
Americas: 3 teams from the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Americas League.
Asia - 3 teams from VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Pacific League.
China - 2 teams (to be determined by invitation method).

As the recent LOCK//IN Championships were won by a team from Europe, the region has one additional slot which will be played in the local league in the coming months.

Along with the championship, Riot Games is expected to unveil official details of the upcoming Chinese league, which is set to launch closer to the start of the next competitive season.

Format of VCT Masters Tokyo 2023

Presumably the format of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Masters Tokyo will include a double elimination grid of Valorant matches, as announced by the organizers along with the announcement of the number of competitors.

Closer to the start of the tournament, the organisers will present detailed seeding rules for the participants, who will be divided into two baskets. The top teams from the partner leagues are expected to be designated with the first seeding, while all remaining teams will start their journey in the Valorant Masters Tokyo from the first round.

Given the transitional format of the new competitive season, only one Masters will be played in 2023. This makes the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Masters Tokyo a very high profile event as it is the last chance to qualify for the final VALORANT Champions 2023 in Los Angeles.

VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Masters Tokyo prizes

It is expected that the winner of the VCT Masters Tokyo will receive a direct entry to the VALORANT Champions 2023. Additionally, a Last Chance Regional Qualifier will take place immediately after the tournament to determine the line-up for the final championship of the season.

There will also be a chance to win cash prizes in the course of the championship. The prize money is expected to be at least as big as the $650,000 at last year's Masters in Copenhagen.

The Valorant Masters Tokyo will be held June 11-25 in Japan. Twelve teams from Europe, America, Asia and China will compete for the massive prize money.
